Both original and reproduction paintings are widely available via online auctions. Reproduction paintings are mostly available as oil paintings, and are often very reasonably priced. You have to be careful, however, of the quality of reproduction paintings. Most are produced overseas, which means that they've often been shipped internationally. Because their original quality may be poor, the shipping conditions can adversely affect the look of the painting. Be careful when selecting reproduction work.

An online auction site can be a great way to obtain the work of an up and coming artist. Remember, shipping any kind of artwork can be expensive, and frequently exceeds the cost of the artwork itself.
