May 12, 2006, Newsletter Issue #36: Choosing an Online Art Auction Site

Tip of the Week

Choosing an online art auction site is fairly straightforward. First, you need to determine what kind of art you are seeking. Most art available through auction online are art print. If you're looking just for prints, then most large auctions sites will suffice.

If you are looking for a specific kind of work, or work by a particular artist, you may have more luck buying from a site that specializes in artwork. As with any online purchase, you should check to see that the site has a valid street address and contact numbers. You should also select a site that posts seller feedback. Make sure that the seller you select has a good track record and offers a guarantee on the work that they sell.
